Brown & Wells opened in Rockaway, NJ in 2019 to provide the highest quality of licensing and training to meet the needs of insurance adjusters starting their careers. The adjusters that train with us come from varied backgrounds before beginning the Brown & Wells training program. They began as contractors looking to continue to share their skills on a second or third career, entrepreneurs looking for a sales free industry, military veterans transitioning to civilian careers and others with no experience in insurance claims adjusting or construction.
Today, Brown & Wells graduates are actively working as Insurance Adjusters in daily territories or on CAT deployments and are making good money doing so. Brown & Wells prides itself in the diversity of our students and offers training to anyone looking to build a career for themselves.
Our training is conducted in-person, on-site in Rockaway, NJ by licensed insurance adjusters that are still active in the field.
We have a provider agreement with the Texas Department of Insurance for pre-licensing and for the ability to proctor the state licensing exam onsite.
The Brown & Wells program takes the student from “what is adjusting?” to being fully prepared to handle any kind of property claim from beginning to end in 2 weeks. The program combines both classroom learning and hands-on training in a mock home built on-site at our facility.
Our program objective is to not only educate our adjusters with the job skills required to complete insurance claims from beginning to end but also to be gainfully employed. In addition to licensing and Xactimate training we also discuss the importance of starting a business entity, have free resume building and help align our adjusters with a staffing firm that fits their career goals (some staffing firms specialize in daily claims, some staffing firms specialize in CAT deployments and some staffing firms specialize in casualty investigations).
Now you can take our full, two-week training course! The full training program includes eight days of Complete Adjuster Training (consisting of four days of pre-licensing, taking the TX state exam with us on-site on the fourth day) one day of Scoping and three days of Xactimate FOLLOWED by our five-day Adjuster Boot Camp. This full program will improve your Adjuster skills and get you the Texas All Lines license, the most revered license in Adjusting.
This 4-day course covers insurance law in preparation for the Texas All-Lines Adjusters License exam.
The Texas All-Lines Insurance Claims Adjuster License is the nation’s most sought-after insurance adjusting license due to its reciprocity in 33 states outside of Texas (there are also 16 states that do not require a license, but to work for a carrier you still have to be licensed from a recognized state). With this license, you will be eligible to investigate and adjust residential and commercial property claims, automobile claims, CAT claims and casualty losses. This is the license of choice for insurance adjusters – particularly those interested in catastrophic adjusting, staffing, and daily claims.
This one-day introduction to the scoping procedure is from an insurance adjuster’s standpoint. Topics include tools required, methodology behind a proper scope, proper measurements and photographs, and expectations from the insurance carrier.
Brown & Wells conducts this training using “real life situations”. The class is taught by seasoned, licensed claims adjusters who have the experience and time saving secrets that will make your first day of scoping a breeze. This class was created for the aspiring adjuster who may be unfamiliar with the elements of residential construction and the proper protocol for an inspection or “scope”. Our training will teach you how to scope a house from beginning to end with confidence. More importantly, we spell out the many other facets of proper field inspections in an easy-to-understand manner. Measuring the damages is only a fraction of what you need to know to be a proficient adjuster.
This class will help you if you are a novice or a seasoned contractor or adjuster. Just one time-saving tip will save you thousands of dollars in time and can increase your income!
This three-day course is an introduction to the most widely utilized property estimating software used in the field by claims adjusters and insurers. Brown & Wells ensures that all Xactimate courses are taught by trainers that are Xactimate Level II Certified Users. After this three-day course, you will know how to increase your data entry proficiency, upload/label photographs, complete an estimate as per carrier guidelines and finish a narrative report that encapsulates the entire inspection into what will translate into a paycheck for you. Advanced registration and payment are required. Participants must provide their own computer with the appropriate system requirements, including a demo version of Xactimate X1 installed.
Brown & Wells is now offering a five-day Adjuster Boot Camp. This course is designed for the inexperienced, or less experienced, adjuster that wishes to understand the real-time pressure of meeting the insured, scoping the damaged area and producing the claim before taking on field work.
When you leave our Adjuster Boot Camp you will have gained the knowledge to improve your time and process management techniques, increase your proficiency in analyzing damages, and have the ability to produce a quality claim report in a timely and efficient manner. There will be a general policy and insurance law review with an emphasis on residential construction terms and definitions that are commonly used in the industry.
This course also offers some advanced scoping and organizational techniques to increase proficiency in the adjuster’s overall claim output. Basic Xactimate skills are highly recommended prior to beginning our five-day bootcamp.
